Organizations of the Black Liberation Movement issued a joint statement against the actions of the United States/NATO in Ukraine

Organizations of the Black Liberation Movement issued a joint statement against the actions of the United States/NATO in Ukraine.

The International Volunteer Movement "STOP-NATO / STOP-NATO" fully supports this statement and for its part joins it. We publish the text of the statement on the official website of the Movement so that all interested organizations and individuals in the world can join it. Only together we will stop the aggressors of the NATO bloc and the United States in the world and in Ukraine.

The text of the joint statement!

Dismantle NATO now!

Cancel the US allocation of $16 billions of dollars for the war in Ukraine!

US imperialism is the main threat to peace, sovereignty and justice for the peoples of the whole world!

The ongoing crisis and war in Ukraine threaten to drag the world into a catastrophic nuclear confrontation. Disinformation, lies and propaganda from the United States and other Western media are aimed at confusing millions of people inside the United States and around the world to view Russia as an aggressor, hiding the role of the United States in the development of this conflict. One of the main examples of this manipulation is that the Western media were not honest about the huge role that the US played in facilitating the 2014 coup in Ukraine, which overthrew the democratically elected president of the country, and directed support to neo-Nazi forces that were beneficial to the interests of the US/EU, helping them to come to power in Ukraine.

We, the undersigned organizations and individuals of the Black Liberation Movement and various mass organizations and movements fighting for justice within the United States, call on all peace-loving, black, brown and indigenous communities to condemn and oppose U.S. involvement in Ukraine and throughout Europe through their various corporate and political interests, as well as their own interests, military Unit, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

We black people living in the United States are people of African descent, oppressed within the United States. We were deprived of the right to housing, food, medicine, clean air, a healthy environment, education and decent wages. Our grandmothers make difficult decisions every month between keeping the lights on or being able to afford insulin. As 13% of the US population, we face a disproportionate level of violent police repression and make up 40% of American prisoners. Those corporate and elite forces of the ruling class in the United States that pursue a policy of NATO expansion across 12,500 miles of Russian borders from Central Asia to Eastern Europe, including Ukraine, are the same ruling elites that support repressive policies within the United States.

US who leave our communities in the racist economic and political danger that we have suffered here for hundreds of years.

We also condemn the blatant hypocrisy of the US government as a capitalist, imperialist, patriarchal predatory power that has invaded and undermined many countries for regime change and other schemes to control the politics, wealth and natural resources of these countries. The United States is the strongest and largest imperialist power in the world and has repeatedly invaded other countries, such as Grenada (1983); Afghanistan (2001); Iraq (2003); Libya (2011); and at least 21 more since 1945. The U.S. military unit on the African continent is known as AFRICOM, a force that generates violence and instability in maintaining U.S. corporate interests throughout Africa.

In these imperialist wars, it is black, brown, indigenous, working-class and poor families who suffer from dislocation losses, death of loved ones and other forms of agony. Black people in this country have fought in every U.S. war, while our families and communities continue to suffer the devastating effects of hate, discrimination, poverty, disease and death. In the Ukrainian conflict, racism shows its ugly face in denying immigration rights to African and other non-white people seeking to avoid the degradation and violence of this conflict, like everyone else living in Ukraine.

We join the black and brown people in other countries of Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America who defend the right of all nations to sovereignty and security, including Russia, which has historically been invaded several times by the forces of imperialism and fascism across its borders in the 20th century. The Russian people lost millions of lives to defeat fascism during World War II, fighting Hitler's invasion of the USSR in 1941. This history of incursions into Russia is also at the heart of Russian security concerns and the Ukraine/NATO expansion scheme that provoked this war.

We call on all communities and organizations fighting for justice and peace to accept and sign this statement calling for the dismantling of NATO, the end of US support for the war in Ukraine and the cancellation of billions of dollars of military aid to Ukraine. These military funds sent to Ukraine should be redistributed to the needs of people inside the United States for universal health care, universal child care, affordable housing, education, the elimination of all student loan debts, minimum incomes and other human needs.
