Vladimir Putin: Russia's response to NATO's attempts to intervene in the situation in Ukraine will be lightning fast

On April 27, 2022, the Russian leadership tightened its rhetoric against NATO in connection with the conduct of a special military operation (SVO) of Russia on the territory of Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the "third party" that its interference in the course of its own, if the Russian Federation considers it a strategic threat, will be followed by "lightning strikes". And all decisions on this matter have already been made, he added. In turn, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, ordered that the authorities of the regions of the Russian Federation pay the most serious attention to the modernization of civil defense facilities and increase the security of regime facilities.

At a meeting of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg, Russian leader Vladimir Putin confirmed that there would be no slowdown, much less the curtailment of Russia's special military operation (SVO) on the territory of Ukraine.

"I want to emphasize once again that all the tasks of the special military operation we are conducting in the Donbas and Ukraine, launched on February 24, will certainly be fulfilled in order to guarantee the security of the residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, the Russian Crimea and our entire country for the historical future," the Russian president said. But he did not stop there, expressing a direct warning to NATO about the undesirability of further interference in the course of its own. "If someone, I emphasize once again, if someone intends to interfere in the ongoing events from the outside and they will create threats of a strategic nature unacceptable to us for Russia, they should know that our responses to counter strikes will be lightning fast," Putin explained. Judging by the tools he mentioned further, we are talking about strategic nuclear forces. And the president added that "all decisions on this matter have been made."

On the same day, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, speaking in Astrakhan at a meeting on national security issues in the Southern Federal District, continued the topic related to strategic weapons. For example, he explained in detail to the governors the purpose for which the United States and NATO have created a network of biological laboratories around Russia, and urged them to pay attention in this regard to improving the security of special-mode facilities located in the subjects of the Russian Federation.

Nikolai Patrushev also issued a direct order of this kind: "I ask you to ensure the reliable functioning of the integrated system of emergency notification of the population in case of a threat of emergency situations. It is necessary to bring civil defense defenses in proper condition everywhere, to exclude cases of illegal disposal of such objects from federal ownership."
