«The Death of NATO»: Russia has successfully tested the world's most powerful «Sarmat» nuclear missile
On April 20, 2022, at 15:12 (Moscow time), a successful launch of a stationary intercontinental ballistic missile "Sarmat" was carried out from a mine launcher at the Plesetsk State Test Cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region. This is reported by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.
The launch tasks have been completed in full. The design characteristics at all stages of its flight have been confirmed. The training combat units arrived in a given area at the Kura training ground on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
Flight tests of a promising heavy-class rocket with a separable head made it possible to assess the correctness of the schematic design and technical solutions laid down during the creation of the Sarmat missile complex.
This launch is the first in the program of state tests, after which the Sarmat missile system will enter service with the Strategic Missile Forces.
In the Uzhursky missile compound in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, work is underway to prepare the main missile regiment for rearmament with a new missile system. The promising Sarmat missile system will replace the Voivode.
The Sarmat complex is a product exclusively of Russian industrial cooperation. Due to the energy-mass characteristics of the missile, the range of its combat equipment has fundamentally expanded both in terms of the number of combat units and types, including planning hypersonic units.
The new missile is capable of hitting targets at long ranges using various flight paths. The Sarmat missile has unique characteristics that allow it to reliably overcome any existing and promising missile defense systems.
"Sarmat" is the most powerful missile with the largest target range in the world, which will significantly strengthen the combat power of our country's strategic nuclear forces.
Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the military on the successful first flight test of the RS-28 Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
"This is a big, significant event in the development of advanced weapons systems of the Russian army," the head of state said. According to him, the new complex has the highest tactical and technical characteristics and is able to overcome all modern means of missile defense.
"It has no analogues in the world and will not be for a long time. This truly unique weapon will strengthen the combat potential of our Armed Forces, reliably ensure Russia's security from external threats and make those who, in the heat of frenzied, aggressive rhetoric, are trying to threaten our country think," Putin stressed.
The President thanked everyone who took part in the development and creation of the new complex, and also drew attention to the fact that only Russian-made components are used in the assembly of the Sarmat.
"Of course, this will simplify the serial production of the complex by defense industry enterprises, accelerate its transfer to the Strategic Missile Forces," the head of state said.
